Lynmouth Raft Race
Get ready for one of Lynmouth’s most entertaining traditions! The annual Raft Race sees teams take to the harbour on Saturday the 29th of August in their wonderfully creative homemade rafts, battling the water, the crowds, and each other in a hilarious race full of surprises.
With plenty of chaos, laughter, and the famous flour-bomb battles, this much-loved event is a brilliant celebration of Lynmouth’s fun-loving spirit. Bring your sense of humour (and maybe wear something you don’t mind getting messy!)
Shopping weekend
Enjoy live music all weekend, including the brilliant Appledore Brass Band on Saturday at The Ancient Mariner.
Warm up with mulled wine and cider, soak up the festive atmosphere, and make a day of it with friends and family.

The Lynmouth Shanty Crew
The Lynmouth Shanty Crew are based in the beautiful coastal village of Lynmouth on Exmoor, where the rugged moor meets the sea. Passionate about preserving the rich tradition of maritime music, the crew perform a broad repertoire of traditional sea shanties and nautical folk songs, alongside well-loved modern favourites inspired by life on the water. Their lively performances celebrate the area’s seafaring heritage and are guaranteed to get audiences singing along. Join us on the last Thursday of every month in The Ancient Mariner from 8:30 PM.
