Here at The Bath Hotel, we consider ourselves to be in one of the best spots in the UK for walking holidays, whether you’re looking for local circular rambles, or longer adventures further afield.

KEEP IT LOCAL:

Explore the stunning surrounds of Lynton & Lynmouth – right from our doorstep! With a range of short, circular walks to choose from that are suited to all abilities, you can in take the local sights in your stride. For a gentle stroll any time of day, there’s the Woodside Bridge Circular walk, an easy one-mile riverside walk. Fancy seeing neighbouring Lynton during your stay? Try the Zig-Zag route between the two towns.

Feeling a little more adventurous? There are plenty of more challenging walks and hikes in the local area to choose from, like the Lynmouth, Watersmeet and Countisbury walk – a 5.5km walk starting at Lynmouth, you’ll take in woodlands, waterfalls and coastal views along the way. Then there’s the Lynmouth to Ash Bridge circular walk – where you can refuel at a Tea Garden for a delicious Devon Cream Tea mid-way through.

SIGHTSEEING ROUTES:

Want to discover the history of North Devon whilst getting your steps in? Choose from our local walks that meander through neighbouring villages. Explore the sleepy hamlet of Parracombe and its traditional water mill with the Parracombe to Challacombe Circular Walk.  Or, discover the Woody Bay Steam Train, with the UK’s only operating Victorian railway carriages on the Heddon Valley to Woody Bay walk – the choice is yours!

COASTAL CAPERS:

You simply cannot visit Lynmouth without taking in the breathtaking views of the North Devon Coastline by foot – and with the SW Coast Path right on the doorstep, you won’t leave disappointed! For a gloriously longer walk – take the Lynton to Hunters Inn Coastal route and refuel with a cold pint before headed back. Discover Exmoor’s famously wooded coastline on the Porlock Weir to Lynmouth route, and take in the enchanting Culbone Church along the way.

The first is of course how our parking works, then you might want to know where to whet your whistle, before discovering where you need to go to make the most of this stunning part of the world. The information below should keep you covered on all fronts.

Rooms

We have 20 comfortable and quintessentially eclectic en-suite rooms, the majority with sea views. Each room has its own character, unique decor and feel, with a nod to the history of our Victorian building. Choose from suites to quirky twins.

Dining

From exceptional breakfasts, to seasonal and delicious evening meals, our restaurant has got you covered; we’ve even got a specific space for those wanting to dine with a dog too! Fancy hearty pub food? Our Ancient Mariner Pub is the place for you.

Exploring

When it comes to exploring you’ve places to go than you could shake a sturdy Exmoor stick at. That’s before you realise you’re in one of the most picture perfect places in the whole of North Devon already. We’ve got plenty of recommendations though.
